Dear X1 Team:

I am dissapointed to learn that I have to buy a new subscription. When I purchased X1 in 2005, the terms were lifetime. I will not renew my license (now a "subscription" implying yearly renewals). Moreover, I will not refer others to the X1 treadmill. Best of luck.

I love X1, and found it to be a huge timesaver when using Outlook. Unfortunately my company has moved from using Outlook/Exchange Servers to using Google Apps, and I really struggle to locate information. Is there any plan to integrate the X1 search and index capabilities into Google Mail?

X1 is a great time saver. I have used the tool daily for the last 3 years. I have just added a "Sharepoint Lists" PST within outlook (outlook folder that auto syncs to a sharepoint directory). X1 recognizes the PST, notes the data, but does not return search results. Do I need the X1 Sharepoint Client ? Thanks in advance

X1 will index and allow you to search PST files. Not sure why you aren't getting results. Best thing would be to talk to our customer service guys who can walk through it with you live and see what's going on. Log into your support portal and file a ticket so we know how to contact you. 9 days ago

I recently switched from a Windows PC to a Apple Mac and the only thing I miss on my Mac is X1!
Are there plans to port X1 to the MacOS? I really think this is a big market for you guys: the spotlight alternative just isn't by far as sophisticated as X1.

I just upgraded from 6.2.4 and realized that the new veriosn is very slow. I have a Vaio notebook with Wondows 7 , 32 bit, 4(actually 3GB) Ram and 270GB harddisk. Am I doing something wrong?

Your FAYT (fast as you type) function is helpful, but often causes X1 to be very slow and sluggish. You might consider creating an option to disable this function.

I love X1, I used it frequently and its search capabilities are amazing. My only gripe is that our company won't let us download updates; If we do, we get nasty-grams from our corporate IS department. So a giant KUDOS on your part. X1 is an excellent product. I would highly recommend it.

I have been using X1 for more than 3 years now and just can't live without it! I have stopped filing emails, and instead maintain one folder where I dump all emails after reading them. X1 makes it very easy to mine and locate information later on. Great product, folks !

Never in the field of human quest for a perfect search was so much owed by so many to so few. X1 is my daily saviour and a secret weapon on the battlefield littered with scores of useless corporate search technologies. I used my puny laptop to index a >200G corporate repository. I feel like a wizard being able to find instantly anything I want, where others waste time or give up.
Best $50 I ever spent. Love X1 every moment I use it.

I have used X1 for a couple of years and wouldn't be without it. I have a ton of emails and searching them to find the one of interest would waste a lot of time without X1. The same is true of the large number of files and photos. It has been a flawless product that has saved me a lot of time.

Hi Shane. I am glad to hear you use X1 daily! To search PST files with X1, go to Tools/Options. Select Outlook and then click on the "Select Folders to Scan" button. Click on the "Add PST Files" in the bottom left corner and then select the PST files you would like to search in X1. I've used the last free X1 client until I decided to purchase the current X1 client this past month. I have always been impressed with the product and have come back to it each time after trying other "free" solutions, including Microsoft Search 4.0.

I believe X1 should bring back the free client, but to most encourage people to pay the upgrade price, after the initial 30-day free trial period, make the viewer show only the top 1/4 or 1/2 of any result clicked on by the user.

I liked your product very much. In many ways I preferred it to Copernic which is what I now use. I had only one problem with it which was a show stopper. It does not "index on the fly." When a file is changed, I need for it to pick up the change immediately. I don't want to have to reindex everything again in order to be able to search the new material in the document or file as it now exist.
